How to buy an MP3 player
Using your MP3 player is the guide for selection
The first thing that you should think about when buying an MP3 player is where you will use it. You should be able to imagine yourself using the MP3 player in your day to day life. Are you going to be using this MP3 player in the gym? Are you going to be using this MP3 player on your way to work? Are you going to use this MP3 player to serenade yourself to sleep? The way you will use your MP3 player is something you have to think about before purchasing it because it will play a big role in determining your size and memory capacity requirements.
Storage capacity or memory capacity of the MP3 player plays a big role
You have decided that you want to use an MP3 player while you are working out at the gym? How many songs can you listen to in one workout? In an hour, you could probably listen to an entire album of fifteen to twenty songs. If a song is about 4 megabytes in size then you will probably be fine with a 512 megabyte or a 1 gigabyte MP3 player. On the other hand, maybe you want an MP3 player that will play background music in the office or at home. You want an MP3 player that will continue to play music for over a month without ever hearing a song twice during that time span. Having an 80 gigabyte MP3 player can play over 20,000 songs. If you fill up that capacity then you might even go for two months of unrepeated tracks! Find out how you will use your MP3 player and you will have an idea of the kind f memory storage requirements that will be best for you.
Leave the MP3 player at home, in the car, or carry it around?
If you are going to be jogging around the neighbourhood with your new MP3 player then you should probably get clip on MP3 players. You do not want to be carrying around unusually large hard drive based MP3 players. If you are going to use your MP3 player simply at home then having a large MP3 player should not be a problem at all. Sometimes, you will use an MP3 player that is simply installed into your car. In an instance like this, you will be worrying more on style and interface instead of the space it occupies.
